About this deal

It's a theory that may seems reasonable but I cannot confirm for sure in any way and would be interesting to understand the difference. After replacing the RAM kit I still had the same random BSOD's, then I changed the CPU from the 3700x to a 3900x and have since had no issues with default bios and XMP settings. It appears you have tightened down on the primary values anyway, so a strict copy and paste of other values from a different setting may not give you what you want. I used the import feature from Thaiphoon because I noticed that even though I put in the correct specifications in all the main fields like rank, number of modules, frequency etc the timings still changed when I used the imported file in DRAM calculator. As far as I understand whats going on with a faulty ram is that: after you formatted your system it works good for a few days. I do have Gigabyte Gaming X 570X with latest bios F12e and in slot A2 and B2 when i put the ram with enabled X. If stability was the issue, re-entering the XMP values is not likely to give you a different result. Then I heard about what you said about tRFC and I set the alternative setting (432) as well as the tWRRD (3).Latest BIOS Update from GB 10c did not resolve the issue with the XMP profile and BSOD if the timings are not entered manually. I am very sorry for my post being so long and please excuse me if my English is not perfect, but it's not my native language.

For example, when I only started PC with RAM in black slots, it rebooted 5 times and booted in fail-safe mode, so I could disable the XMP profile.

i wish i would of gotten the z kit for the fact i could have tighter timings and hit 3800mhz or higher. After a second or third boot, the BIOS also reverted back to JEDEC speeds (2133Mhz) even though the option XMP was still enabled in BIOS.
