I really love Ann Cleeves's writing so this was never going to be bad but it's not quite as captivating as the Vera Stanhope or Jimmy Perez series that I have been thoroughly enjoying (and thankfully still have a couple left to read). Inspector Ramsay is convinced it was the headmaster’s enigmatic wife but Jack Robson, school governor and caretaker, is determined to prove her innocence.
