About this deal

All it takes is the slightest breeze to change the trajectory of one's life. Moments acted upon and those missed opportunities viewed longingly from over the shoulder.

Now You See Her by James Patterson, Michael Ledwidge

I really wanted to like Now You See Her. For one thing it’s written by Canadian Joy Fielding (who has had a great deal of success in this genre). For another, I felt like I should be able to relate to Marcy. We’re of the same vintage, at any rate. But nothing about this book spoke to me. Now You See Her" is a body-swap thriller involving Amelia, a lower class scrub from a single parent household who's obsessed with tennis and with winning tennis, and Sophie, the squeaky clean carefully presented upper class tennis star. When Sophie hits Amelia, who's trying to get away from a kidnapper one stormy night, they're both injured: Sophie gets a concussion while Amelia winds up in a coma. When "Sophie" wakes up, though, it's Amelia who's looking through her eyes and trying to figure out what happened: why is she in Sophie's body? How long will she be there? What happened? And... why was someone trying to kidnap her? Is her sister also in danger? Her mom?The story is told alternately from Harriett and Charlotte's point of view as well as before and after the event. We learn that not everything is as it seems on the surface with twists and turns at every corner. Her One Mistake is gripping, suspenseful, thought-provoking, entertaining, disturbing and an engrossing read that at the end will leave you wondering what she thought her one mistake was. I have to say Ms Fielding is one of THE most consistently good authors I've read. I have read around a dozen by her now in the past 2 decades and I've always scored 4 or 5*. Very impressive. See Jane Run remains one of my most favourite books ever. This one wasn't her best but it was still an enjoyable read and full of twist and turns. Meanwhile, Harriet is living a double nightmare. Her child is gone, and her marriage and state of mind is more fragile than ever. The writing is clun-ky. Sometimes, apropos of nothing, we get a little history lesson. No one sounds Irish. The transitions are often confusing. But Amelia doesn't just stop there. She does things like that but with every single person that Sophie knows. But she does manage to keep two relationships on stable ground.

Now You See Her by James Patterson | Goodreads

So, Amelia in Sophie's body, gets on with Sophie's life, trying to piece together what happened that night. All while finding that the perfect picture that Sophie presents isn't all that. Of course what I do love about thrillers is that it's always darkness that will unfold at the seams once you begin the story. Heidi lays the groundwork nicely for her readers and has a nice little twist in this one that will keep you reading. The first, Now You See Her, from HarperTeen, is the story of a pampered, driven young actress who fakes her own abduction. Channel 4 did, in fact, broadcast the first dedicated women's FA Cup highlights show two years prior to the programme Phillip viewed as a 14-year-old. They were rewarded with a five-goal thriller as Leasowe Pacific, who morphed into the present-day Everton, beat Friends of Fulham at Old Trafford. As contemporary as the rest of the plot maybe, this is in no shape or form contemporary, and seems a litttttle unoriginal.

Well, actually, you’ll not even know where you are once you dive into this baby, and maybe, in all honesty and considering the dangers of too much sun, skip the beach altogether because once you start reading this, you’re a goner. Take it from me, I was so immersed in this story that I sunburned the tops of my feet and had to hobble around shoe-less for several days. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she graduated from the University of Toronto in 1966, with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. As Joy Tepperman, she had a brief acting career, appearing in the film Winter Kept Us Warm (1965) and in an episode of Gunsmoke. She later changed her last name to Fielding (after Henry Fielding) and began writing novels. Someday, no one will have to tell you when you've done something well, because you'll hear the applause inside." These are the powerful last words of NOW YOU SEE HER by Jacquelyn Mitchard. They are the words that capture the main sentiment of this important story about believing in yourself, and I hope Mitchard herself takes them to heart.

In the 1990s, the top level of women's football was still some way off the standard of today. But women had to fight extraordinary prejudice just for the right to play.

This is one of those bang through books you can't put down where everyone is hiding something, Heidi Perks writes with an instinctive knowledge of how to keep the reader enthralled and dissects her characters along the way until you see them clearly.” Amelia Fischer has never been “in.” She’s never made a close group of friends or hosted spontaneous sleepovers. She’s never been “in” because she’s always been “out,” as in, one foot always outside the door. Amelia’s mom has a tough job in nursing homes and has to travel almost every year. Along with her devoted and loving sister, Mae, Amelia’s never gotten close to a place like home. This time, though, she feels that it might be different. Morristown is safe, secure, and happy. They have finally stayed for three years and counting, and Amelia is about to take a shot at a huge opportunity: the First Singles spot on the tennis team. Our evil antagonist is not only a corrupt cop who rises effortlessly through the ranks but in his free time he also kidnaps, sells, and kills beautiful women
