About this deal

Thanks once again to the lens, the MV800 didn't show too much chromatic aberration. There's some purple fringing in the crops at the edges of the frame, particularly at the wide-angle setting, but it's well controlled for the most part. In real-world situations, it might show up in high-contrast areas of a shot, particularly at the edges of buildings, but it isn't a big concern.

On average, the MV800 performed equally in our 3000 lux (bright light) and 60 lux (low-light) tests, showing 1.35% and 1.34% noise, respectively. The higher ISO settings showed less noise in our 60 lux test due to extra noise reduction, while the lower ISO settings were cleaner at 3000 lux. But as the crops show, the top ISO setting always looks ugly, no matter how it's lit. Also omitted from the box is a traditional mains charger as such. Instead, as is now becoming more commonplace, a dual-use short USB lead is provided: one end of which slots into the vacant port on the camera, the other end connecting up to a mains adapter plug. Thus the battery is charged in-camera, meaning that even if you were to invest in a spare cell, the MV800 remains out of action each time you want to recharge it. The Samsung MV800 offers a Macro setting that allows you to focus on a subject that is 5cms away from the camera when the lens is set to wide-angle. The first image shows how close you can get to the subject (in this case a compact flash card). The second image is a 100% crop. Auto: 1/8 - 1/2000sec / Program: 1 - 1/2000sec / Night: 16 - 1/2000sec / AEB,continuous: 1/4~1/2000sec Exposure Control

A camera that must be plugged in to charge (non-removable), is useless when the power goes; usually at the most inopportune time. Extra battery(ies) can be easily carried. The camera has a 16.1 megapixel sensor and a 5x optical zoom lens, which is a 35mm equivalent of 26 - 130mm. Videos are recorded in 720p HD with Zoom Noise Reduction and the camera takes MicroSD cards. The built in Pose Guide function advises users how to best get into position with line drawings on the LCD screen, so consumers can capture the optimum image from any angle. The device also provides the perfect picture in real time, with the easy-to-navigate Photo Editor function, allowing users to edit and rotate the image on the move. Loved ones and friends will also appreciate the Beauty Shot feature which edits out any imperfections, resulting in a flawless photo one can treasure and share forever.According to the specs, it doesn't have stereo sound recording, but all the other things I'm looking for. The Samsung MV800 handled chromatic aberrations fairly well during the review, with some purple fringing present around the edges of objects in high-contrast situations, as shown in the examples below. RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J.,July 18, 2012 –Samsung Electronics America Inc., a market leader and award-winning innovator in consumer electronics, today announced the availability of the MV900F, the latest digital camera to join the company’s Wi-Fi enabled SMART line-up. The MV900F’s shooting flexibility does not end with its rotating display. With Samsung’s unique Gesture Shot, which uses motion-sensing technology, users can zoom and snap a photo with simple hand motions from across the room.
