About this deal

During 2010, several media reports [15] [16] (one of which included a quote from a representative of Parsons), [17] alleged that the song " Need You Now" by country music group Lady Antebellum used the melody and arrangement of " Eye in the Sky". Nothing against classical music - some of the world's most beautiful art is reflected in classical pieces. In fact 'Goin' Home appears the be based on the second movement of Antonin Dvorak's 'New World Symphony'. With Parsons and Tom Brooks providing lyrics, the result was pretty, but sounded like something pulled off a Broadway cast album. Parsons vocals were .. well they were certainly heartfelt. Thankfully 'You Are the Light' spared is another ballad, instead showcasing a mid-tempo pop tune. Featured Parsons and Dan Tracey on lead vocals, the song featured a catchy, but anonymous melody. It would have been better were it not for Parsons flat and uninspired vocals. Tracey's contributions simply buried Parsons. Should have let him handle lead vocals. On 26 April 2019, Parsons released a new studio album, The Secret, his first album in 15 years. [20] Mark Mikel handled lead vocals on the ballad 'Obstacles.' The song's most interesting facet was how much Mikel sounded like APP's David Paton. At least this one sounded like an Alan Parson song; albeit not a very good one. There are also other limiting factors lately: “I’m getting on in years – I’m 73 now,” Parsons says, “but I’m still pretty energetic, as far as making music is concerned. Having said that, I’ve developed a very nasty spinal stenosis issue, which requires surgery, so I unfortunately had to postpone the upcoming [tour] in Europe that was due to start about ten days from now. I was heartbroken about that, but I’m very confident I’ll be fine: I’ve got a good orthopedic doctor who’s going to take care of it.” His surgery, he says, is set for just a few days after this interview. Parsons resides in Santa Barbara, California. He has two sons from his first marriage. He is married to Lisa Griffiths; they have two daughters. [2] [25] Discography [ edit ] Full discography [ edit ] Date Parsons was the sound engineer on albums including the Beatles' Abbey Road (1969) and Let It Be (1970), Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), and the eponymous debut album by Ambrosia in 1975. Parsons's own group, the Alan Parsons Project, as well as his subsequent solo recordings, have also been commercially successful. He has been nominated for 13 Grammy Awards, with his first win occurring in 2019 for Best Immersive Audio Album for Eye in the Sky (35th Anniversary Edition). [3] Music career [ edit ]
