Chlorine bleach will remove most stains, but fabric colour will fade. So use the household stain removers mentioned in this post first before you despair and try bleach. But do not use chlorine bleach on silk, wool, and luxury woolen clothes. Soak the stained area in a solution of 1 cup warm water and 1 tsp dish washing detergent.
