About this deal

Has anyone done this and any advice at all on the procedure? It does seem that others are having my issue specifically, especially after having new suspension fitted. If you have set your sag correctly and are using full travel (bottoming out) too easily, then you could install one or more spacers to increase bottom out resistance. Good news. The garage-I -can-trust has today successfully removed the two pinch bolts through application of heat (so torching my upper arms' boots!) and inserting the M10 bolts I supplied - these are 8.8 rated and galvanised with 80mm solid shank and 20 mm threaded end with hex head. For now I've made a functioning front brake for the short ride home, by instead of putting the cable through the pinch bolt hole, running it along the side of the pinch bolt where it can be squeezed against flat metal rather than squeezed in the channel. Is this a terrible solution/bound to fail?

In some cases, frame mounts may not be perfectly square to the rotor, causing lateral misalignment at the caliper. There is often no adjustment possible for this type of misalignment, but a professional shop may be able to face or machine the mounts with the Park Tool DT-5.2 to improve alignment. Conical Washers This type of linkage is also used in some V brakes to provide a more nearly horizontal motion to the brake shoe, and to keep the shoe angle constant. If at any point I've come across as being a bit shirty, I apologise. I just think that if you post something & it isn't quite correct then you have to be prepared to be called out on it. Believe me, I've been there myself so try not to guess at stuff. I wanted to reassure any 306 owners out there that in this case an 8.8 or stronger 1.5 pitch bolt meets OEM specification.... as long as the correct nut type is used. There's never been a recall for 306's to have the M10 x 1.5 swapped out for M10 x 1.25 & I've never heard of one failing on a 306. I'll also buy a new hub bolt at the same time. Needless to say regular greasing is now part of the regular servicing for me!! Pressure The hardness to which a tire is inflated. This is commonly measured in PSI (pounds per square inch), BAR, or kPa (kiloPascals.)

Pinch flats (also known as "snakebites" because there are usually two small holes in the tube, as if made by the fangs of a snake) are usually caused by carelessness or riding under-inflated tires. They can also be caused by the use of a tire which is too narrow for the weight it is asked to carry. Snug the caliper mounting bolts to hold the alignment of the caliper body over the rotor. Full tightening will occur after good pad alignment is confirmed. Tandemists sometimes like to experiment with different phasing of the cranks. One alternative is "90 degrees out of phase", where one set of cranks is horizontal while the other is vertical. This produces a smoother power flow, although it is a debatable whether this matters. Out-o- phase cranks complicate high-speed cornering, since both riders cannot have their cranks horizontal at the same time.Small changes in tire pressure can have major effects on the ride quality and performance of a bicycle. It is best to experiment with different pressures to find out what works best for your particular combination of tire width, weight and surface conditions.
