To expand on my earlier comment, my understanding is that BSP sizes were based on old-fassioned iron pipes. Would be far simpler to get a tap that is British and just goes straight in where my existing flexis start - is there a good British brand? Apologies, I am doing DIY for the first time in my life and took me 4 hours to only unscrew the tap to water connection due to very tight space.
