About this deal

Complementing the optics, a dual VCM autofocus system offers fast and near-silent focusing performance to suit both stills and movie recording applications. A ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating has been applied to individual elements to minimize lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.

It is a widely known fact that the angle of view of a lens depends not only on the focal length but also on the focus distance set, and this effect is particularly pronounced on this lens. As you’d expect from the longer focal length, the background details are enlarged, including the bokeh blobs, and again the prime lens with its brighter focal ratio delivers a shallower depth of field. So if you have both of these lenses you’ve got the field covered from a 24mm wide angle up to a 300mm telephoto with a constant f2. Included LH-76 lens hood with the ability to slide the hood over the lens when not in use and dedicated lens pouch. The crops also reveal the blobs to cleaner shapes, whereas the 40-150mm blobs show some visible onion-ringing. Inside the dust-free and splash-proof lens body are a variety of specialized elements that feature the ZERO lens coating, including one aspherical, one high refractive index, and five extra-low dispersion elements for improved imaging performance.

Removable rotating tripod collar offers a stable platform for working with this lens atop a tripod or monopod. I will probably post some more samples of both the 40-150 +MC-20 and the 50-200 + EC-14 in the coming days.

The autofocus slows down slightly in very dim light indoors, but not to the extent where it would bother you. Attempting nature photography at a very wide aperture can be risky and would generally be reserved for certain subjects in more predictable or creative conditions. aperture is maintained throughout the focal range, a very useful feature and not just for shooting in low light. I will answer these questions and really see if there is a material difference in the final part of this series.

PRO Lens, is a true workhorse of a lens, perfect for any Micro Four Thirds user looking for the ultimate image quality in a wide range of situations. As you’d expect there’s a rotating tripod collar, and that collar can be removed if you’re going to handhold the lens. In absolute raw files with no correction, chromatic aberration was clearly apparent at 40mm, much less so at 150mm, which is sort of the opposite of what you’d usually expect. Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm is fully weather sealed (dust- and splashproof), so it can be used safely in wet and dusty environments alike as long as it's attached to a similarly weathr-sealed body (e.

Dust, splash and freeze-proof, the Olympus 40-150mm lens with Micro Four Thirds fit features a maximum f2. I have the 40-150 Pro too and i agree that it’s a fantastic piece of kit – as indeed is the rest of the OMD system. Please include what you were doing when this page came up and the Cloudflare Ray ID found at the bottom of this page. This is never ideal for lens testing, but I’ve been doing it long enough to tell good detail rendition from bad in a range of situations.
