Two 5-pin MIDI inputs (8) 1/4” (6.35 mm) TRS outputs (Main L/R, outputs 3/4–7/8: four stereo pairs) This includes the Fabric Synthesizer, the Stage EP keyboards, and much, much more. One second you’ll be laying down a space-age pad, the next you’ll be crafting a funky synth bassline – it’s all possible with the MPC X SE. The new AIR Vocal Insert Effects Suite gives you the power to record and mix industry-grade vocals directly to the MPC. This collection of modern vocal production tools includes pitch correction effects perfect for RnB, Rap and Pop music. The AIR effects library has also been expanded with seven new additions including AIR Stutter and Granulator. The new Auto-Sample feature will allow you to sample any synthesizer preset or VST Plugin preset and turn it into a keygroup program on the MPC. The ‘Auto-Sample’ feature offers a -C2 to G8 octave range and up to four velocity layers. So you can layer textures and build the song you want. You can also edit the note stride, note length, tail length, and loop time. Capture your chosen sounds accurately and without any kind of unwanted digital artifacts. Once these sounds have been captured, they can be saved into your MPC as a preset and integrated into your set. Features The Akai MPC X Standalone Production Machine delivers the ultimate production solution in a standalone unit, eliminating the need for a computer. The compact design also makes the MPC X highly portable, allowing you to take your unit anywhere you go, ideal for live performances and collaborations.Plugins load noticeably faster on the SE. On the One, it would sometimes take up to 7-10 seconds for a Fabric XL preset to change/load; now, this takes 2 seconds max. This isn't a very scientific way to assess it, but it's noteworthy nonetheless. features numerous time-based Insert Effects for creative remixing and production like Half Speed and Stutter.
The Input Ports section in MIDI/Sync Preferences will display all available MIDI input ports in a list. MPC 1 and MPC 2 refer to the physical 5-pin MIDI input ports on the rear panel of the hardware. Devices will automatically appear in the list when connected. This list refreshes in real-time.The MPC X SE features a 10.1" full-color, multi-touch display (Resolution: 1280x800, A spect ratio: 16:10) for navigating and controlling the internal software. This means that not only is it touch-capable, but it can handle multi-touch gestures like pinching to zoom in/out and double-tap for advanced settings. You might want to use the AIR Vocal Suite for real-time vocal tuning and harmony. Or get creative with AIR Flavor, Half Speed, and stutter. The possibilities are endless.
There’s plenty of connectivity, too - audio, MIDI and CV/Gate, for example - along with WiFi, Bluetooth and Ableton Link 3 support. The MPC 2 Desktop software for PC and Mac is also included. Embodying 35 years of influential history in music production, the Akai Professional MPC X SE Performance and Production Sampler is a nostalgic nod to the iconic MPC60 while boasting cutting-edge features and capabilities. All content will need to be stored on a thumb drive or the internal SATA drive before transferring to the internal storage on the MPC X SE . The Internal storage will not appear as an available drive when connected to your system. The sample will be recorded into your MPC 2.0 sample pool and saved to the hard drive selected while saving the project (the internal factory drive is not available in controller mode, but any connected USB, SD or Internal drives will be available to save to in controller mode). While connected in controller mode, the MPC X SE will act as a controller/interface, similar to the MPC Renaissance. But once disconnected from controller mode, your project can be transferred to a USB drive, SD card, or additional drive on the MPC X to open in standalone. Note: Any projects saved to the internal factory drive will not be available in controller mode. To access a project on the internal factory drive; open the project and save as to a connected USB, SD, or internal SATA drive.)
