About this deal

I love my pilot metropolitan cursive italic nib as well as the fine nibs, but want to Branch out a little. In writing, I found the medium nib very smooth but a bit too wide for my microscopic handwriting. The centers of some of my letters fill in which is not ideal for legibility. I really wish Parker would offer some of these entry level pens with some nib options!

A refined and pleasurable writing experience for genuine personal expression. Beautifully designed nibs allow you to experience the pleasure of fountain pen writing. The Parker Jotter fountain pen is a new take on an old design. It draws its inspiration from Parker’s classic Jotter ballpoint pens. They’re made from the same material, and share the same shape with a similar length. Parker’s warranty is a reflection of the manufacturer’s trust in their work, and with a warranty of 2 years, it’s safe to assume that the manufacturers do indeed have faith in their work. Related Posts Celebrating 60 years of writing excellence, this Parker Originals Jotter Fountain Pen is available in various retro and vibrant colours to suit your own style.Though it’s hard to tell in a photo, the Parker Jotter fountain pen seems a bit wider. It could just be the difference between the grip section on the fountain pen versus the tapered end on the ballpoint. When opened though, I feel like the grip section and the collar that connects the nib feels a little less thought through. There is a noticeable edge where the grip section connects to the body. It writes fairly smoothly as Parker nibs have always been known for their exceptional quality and ink flow. Though like many fountain pens, it might have some skipping within the first few times using it. This can be caused by dirt or air bubbles in the feed from the manufacturing process, and it can be easily flushed out. Iconic details like the arrow clip and the hand-assembled, Ace-emblazoned nibs, are anchored in a heritage of craftsmanship, driven forward by the belief that writing with a finely crafted instrument can enhance and deepen your thoughts. It is this commitment to quality that has made the Parker name synonymous with excellence in fine-writing. Lighter pens tend to be favored by newer users as they have to adjust to the feel of working with the specialized nib. But experienced writers who’ve become accustomed to using heavy pens might struggle to get the ink flowing from this pen properly.

The words written with this pen will be noticeably light, and not due to the type of ink used. It’s likely that the ink flow isn’t very powerful, which is what causes the words to appear lighter in color. Price It has a snap cap, so the stainless steel cap posts firmly in place on top of the nib and grip section. While the pen posts on the barrel as well, though there is no mechanism to keep it in place. When posted, it adds length to the pens’ otherwise small steel body and balances the weight out nicely.Overall, the Jotter in Stainless Steel looks really good when capped. The line is sleek and understated. The Parker Jotter fountain pen has been available for at least a year. However, it has not gotten a lot of notice. In theory, Parker took the classic good looks of their iconic Jotter ballpoint pen and turned it in to a fountain pen. This is not unlike what Caran d’Ache did with the 849 as well. Both companies position these pens in an entry level price point as well, relatively speaking. The cap, clip, nib, and barrel are all made of stainless steel with chrome trim accents that highlight Parker’s attention to detail and focus on aesthetic design.
